We offer the security and stability of a professionally run company combined with the personal service of a local independent cleaner. Each of our cleaners has a set round just as an independent cleaner would. The big difference is our ability to provide a replacement cleaner should your regular cleaner fall ill, take a holiday, or even decide on a change of profession. This allows us to offer greater reliability and the assurance that your service will continue for as long as you require.
We continually strive to find new ways to improve our services and always welcome feedback and suggestions from our customers. Some of the improvements implemented as a direct result of customer feedback are:
• Multiple payment methods to make paying for your service as easy as possible • Our new freephone number so you can contact us with any feedback or questions without cost to you
Finally, we compare our prices regularly with those of other window cleaning companies and independent window cleaners to ensure we remain competative throughout the areas we cover. We believe you will not find a lower price from any other window cleaning provider offering the same level of service and customer support.
Ours is a family run company, with a small but reliable staff. We do not use automated answering services and we always deal with each customer on an individual basis.
Our General staff include Alan, Kath, George, Helen, and another George. Kath can be found manning the phones at most times with Alan providing temporary support from time to time. Many of our newest customers will recognize George as he is responsible for providing many onsite quotes and can often be seen out delivery our fliers. Helen and our other George can also be found delivering our fliers while Alan is usually sat at his computer managing the rounds and offering technical support to customers using our website. You may even see Alan from time-to-time when he is out supervising a trainee cleaner.
While not part of the family, our cleaners do work closely with us on a daily basis. Communication is essential to keep things running smoothy and they are an integeral part of our team. We have several cleaners all covering their individual rounds. General information on our cleaners is available when you log in to your online account.
Our company was founded by Alan in 2005. Alan started out by himself, canvassing local homes offering his services as a window cleaner. Slowly he gained a small round of customers, building his reputation as a conscientious and honest window cleaner. He was recommended to many of his customers friends and family members and after just over a year he had built a full round.
It was at this point Alan took on his first cleaner, allowing him to focus as much time as possible on building his customer base. It was not long before Alan enlisted the help of his mother, Kath. With Kath's help Alan was able to further improve the company, offering greater flexibility with scheduling and improving customer support.
Soon after this Alan's father, George, came on board. George has been vital to our recent growth, working to build several new rounds through flier delivery. Following the success of this type of advertising, Alan's wife, Helen, and his brother, George, have also spent many hours delivering fliers.
There have been many hurdles between that first day and now but with the support of his family Alan has turned AT Cleaning into the thriving and well respected company it is today.
Our aim is simply to be the best within our field. We continue to look for new ideas to bring great benefits to our customers. Some of the benefits we hope to offer soon are:
• Direct Debit facility for regular payments • Advanced scheduling estimation for online account holders, providing greater accuracy • Support for local Neighbourhood Watch schemes
We will also continue to expand our coverage area so that our great services are available to even more people.

All our cleaners have set rounds which, for the most part, stay the same for years. This means you will be visited by the same cleaner for most cleans. The only time you will be visited by another cleaner will be if your regular cleaner is unwell or on an extended holiday. From time-to-time a cleaner does leave us and we will need to provide a new cleaner to take over their round.
When a new cleaner joins us he or she receives extensive training not only in the latest cleaning techniques but also in health and safety. When they finally begin covering a round they are supervised by an experienced cleaner until they we are satisfied they can carry out their work to our high standards and with complete safety.
If you have an online account with us you will be notified by email any time a new cleaner will be visiting your home. You will also be able view a photograph of this new cleaner. In fact, you can also view general information on your regular cleaner at any time when you log in to your online account.
We know how important it is to protect your home and belongings. Should you have any specific instructions for our cleaners you can pass these on to our staff and they will be added to your file. All our cleaners check these files before carrying out a clean. This guarantees your instructions will be followed at all times.
Perhaps you need your cleaner to knock first so you can bring a pet inside from your garden. Maybe you have specific instruction on accessing certain windows or roof tops. Whatever your instructions, we will make sure your cleaner knows exactly what they are and follows them at all times.
While our cleaners make every effort to complete each clean as thoroughly as possible oversights can still occur. For this reason, all work carried out by our cleaners is covered by our guarantee. If you are not happy with anything at all simply call us as soon as possible and your cleaner will return to rectify any problems.
Our cleaners are also fully insured so there is no need to worry about accidental damage or injury. No matter how careful our cleaners are, accidents can still happen. Should an accident occur, they will always notify you immediately and you will be reimbursed for any costs.
All of our services are available as a one-off addition to an existing service. Should you wish to include an extra one-off service at any time you can simply contact our office and we will book this for your next scheduled visit.
Some of our services, such as frames cleaning, can be requested directly when your cleaner is at your home. However, any such requests are subject to the cleaner having enough time to carry out the requested service. To avoid disappointment it is always best to contact our office in advance.
We pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer support. Our permanent office staff are always on hand to deal with any questions, complaints, or requests. Should you wish to give feedback on any aspect of our services please do not hesitate to do so.
We aim to deal with any issues you may have as swiftly as possible. We also believe communication is paramount and will always keep you fully informed when dealing with any issues.

General Procedures
All our cleaners use the traditional squeegee cleaning method when cleaning windows. This is still the best method for cleaning windows thoroughly. As this method involves the use of portable ladders we ensure our cleaners are fully trained to use them in a safe and correct manner. More about this aspect of health and safety can be found here.
When a cleaner is unable to access a window by use of a portable ladder alone there are several alternatives. These include the use of telescopic poles, access from the internal side of the window, and the waterfed brush system.
When cleaning conservatory roofs, our cleaners use the waterfed brush system as this is an ideal method for cleaning large polycarbonate sheeting as well as roof glazing. Squeegees can also be used on roof glazing to increase the quality of the clean.
The cleaning of PVC fixtures is usually accomplished using a combination of manual cloth cleaning and wateRfed brush systems. Where possible our cleaners prefer the use of wet and dry cloths for this type of cleaning as PVC surfaces can be buffed to a very high quality finish.
We offer a variety of frequencies for each of our regular services. The period chosen represents the smallest interval between visits. Due to the nature of our work the actual interval between visits can vary. Adverse weather conditions, public holidays, and injury or sickness can affect the interval greatly. An example of how our scheduling works can be found here.
Should you be concern about a delay in your service you can view our estimated date for your next visit when you log in to your online account. You can also contact our office for this information.
Should you wish to pre-book a date for your next visit in advance you can do this using your online account or over-the-phone. One-off services can also be scheduled in the same manner.
Same-day and next-day booking can be made over-the-phone. This type of booking is subject to cleaner availability and a surcharge to cover travel costs.
For us health and safety is a very serious matter, especially as our cleaners regularly use portable ladders. We follow HSE guidelines closely and ensure our cleaners are fully aware of the dangers involved when working at height. Full training in the use of portable ladders is given to all new trainees. The assessment and management of risk is something our cleaners are highly familiar with. They do not wish to endanger themselves or others and take all the necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
Many window cleaning providers now use waterfed brush systems to further avoid the risks involved with working at height. We have chosen to continue using traditional cleaning methods as we feel these are far superior to these new systems. In fact, the time it takes to effectively clean using these systems makes them highly impractical, promoting cleaners to 'cut corners' and increase prices.
During periods of adverse weather, such as high winds or icy conditions, our cleaners are unable to carry out any work at height. We work around this as much as possible but occasionally this can cause disruption to your service. If we are unable to keep to a scheduled appointment we will contact you as soon as possible to reduce any inconvenience to the absolute minimum.
What you should do when...
...you receive a voicemail letting you know your next clean will be the following day
...going on holiday
...you need to reschedule a visit
...your cleaner is late for an appointment
...booking a one-off addition to your regular service
...cancelling a service
If the following day is not suitable please call us as soon as possible and we will reschedule a time to suit you. If you call outside our office hours please leave us a message letting us know, remember to leave your address when doing so. If the following day is fine but you require a set arrival time please contact us within our office hours. In most cases you will not need to contact us if the next day is convenient.
If you are happy for your cleaner to attend your home whilst you are on holiday you need not take any specific action. If you prefer to postpone your service until you arrive home, please let us know prior to leaving for your holiday and we will be happy to do so. If you do not notify us your service may be carried out whilst you are away and you will still be charged.
Rescheduling your service could not be simpler. You can call our office or use the rescheduling facility within your online account. When postponing a visit we ask that you do so at least 24 hours prior to the actual booking.
While this is highly unusual there are many reasons this could happen. If this happens then please contact our office immediately and we will be able to advise you on the situation and, if necessary, reschedule your appointment.
To do this you can simply contact our office or log in to your online account. To ensure your additional service is booked correctly we advise against booking directly with your cleaner. However, if you prefer to do so, this is an acceptable booking method.
Cancelling a service should always be done over-the-phone or via your online account. Please do not send a cancellation via email or text. We also advise against cancelling a service directly with a cleaner. We can only guarantee your service will be cancelled successfully if done using the accepted methods. If you cancel using another method you will receive confirmation within 5 working days. If you do not receive this confirmation you must call us immediately. When cancelling via the accepted methods you must do so at least 48 hours prior to your next scheduled visit, or no less than 10 working days using any other method.
